Episode 109: Someone Always Tells with Bobbie

Someone Always Tells, and I am here to tell you that this episode featuring Bloodrider Bobbie is a delight.  We delve deeply on The Princess in the Tower chapter of A Feast for Crows.  Just how impatient is Arianne?  Just how patient is Doran?  And what is the actual underlying conflict in this chapter that is far more important than the insurrection attempted by Arianne in the deserts of Dorne.  In this chapter, we learn a lot about what really drives Arianne as she approaches madness brought on by her solitude.  We also get to know Bobbie a lot better, and such a joy it was!  Listen to the Doctor dive in with some special insights about about what George gets right medically!

Episode 108: Renly's Peach with Justin

Justin joins Matt and Scad for Episode 108 where we meet the feisty Ser Cortnay Penrose and deal with some of Stannis’ inner demons, maybe even his shadow.  Stannis seeks surrender from a force well-protected behind the massive walls of Storm’s End, but Ser Cortnay isn’t having it.  However, Stannis has Melisandre, a priestess of R’hllor, on his side and is willing to resort to...other methods.  We spend the other half of the episode learning about our friend Justin.  A family focused lover of Batman and Star Wars, Justin fits right in!

Episode 107: The Tale of the Liddle Crannogman with Katrina

In episode 107, bloodrider Katrina joins Matt and Scad to discuss Bran II from A Storm of Swords.  In this chapter we get the legendary story of the Knight of the Laughing Tree, but so much more.  We get history of the hills and locals, we get arguments about traveling by road, we get a meal of sausage and oatcakes, and we get skingchanging...attempts...ok, so it's MOSTLY the Knight of the Laughing Tree.  But what a story!  The real pleasure of this episode is getting better acquainted with Katrina.  From her illustrious career counting coppers to her hilarious stories about her family, she is a treasure and we hope you enjoy the episode as much as we did.

Episode 106: "Bring Out Your Dead"; Davos the Deadman with Chace

Davos was dead, to begin with.  There is no doubt whatever about that.  Or is there?  Bloodrider Chace joins the Fingers of Davos as we delve deeply into the Wolf’s Den, where Davos, previously thought dead by many a reader, lives on and in relative comfort.  Davos’ examines his own mortality, his relationship with his family, and we are right there with him.  From there we are off to the castle to learn that the North Remembers, and what one Northerner is going to do about it.  More importantly, we spend a bunch of time getting to know Chace a little better, and we know you guys will enjoy it as much as we did.

Episode 105: Only the Cold with Bword

Brrr...it’s cold in here, there must be some daggers in the atmosphere.  Bword, riddler extraordinaire and Queen Beyond the Wall, joins the Fingers for Episode 105:  Only the Cold.  In this episode we cover Jon’s final chapter of A Dance with Dragons in which he faces off against pink letters and dark daggers.  Also Selyse has no impact, Jon delivers a rousing speech, and Wun Wun rages.  We spend some quality time with a friend and get to know her a little better as well, and we hope you enjoy getting to know her better as well!

Episode 104: Snow Castles with Misa

We introduce a new format in this episode:  Meet the Khalasar.  The whole goal of this format is to learn more about some of our friends, while delving deeply into each Bloodrider’s favorite chapter.  The first entry features Misa, our Queen of Gifs and Beauty, as we review her favorite chapter:  Sansa VII from A Storm of Swords.  We explore Sansa’s growth, her confidence, and her loneliness against the backdrop of unwanted advances from Petyr and truly unwarranted accusations from her troubled Aunt Lysa.   It’s a beautiful and iconic chapter and Misa joined in like an old pro.  We hope you enjoy!

Episode 103: What if Jaime Hadn't Pushed Bran?

In Episode 103, we delve into a world in which Jaime does not toss Bran from a window, a lighter timeline...maybe.  In this timeline Jaime intimidates Bran into silence.  Bran goes south, Jaime is not a child murderer, and the 3-eyed crow has to make some choices.  This change obviously has huge impacts on Bran and Jaime as people, their arcs completely change.  But surprisingly, the Fingers think lots of things might actually stay the same.

Episode 102: What If Daenerys Ignored Jorah but Got the Golden Company Instead?

The Fingers of Davos embark on episode 102 where we answer the question:  What if Dany had ignored Jorah, and got the Golden Company instead?  It turns out, Bloodriders, that this is a complicated question.  How long does it take her to get to Pentos?  How long until the Golden Company can arrive?  Can Pentos even CONTACT a sellsword company?  Where will Dany land and when?  What is going on in Westeros at that time?  Dany has been so isolated from the events of Westeros that they have continued on largely without influence from her, and we assume they do still. So sit back and enjoy this very time-dependent question!!!
We have one more of these Whatifisodes left and then it is on to a new format wherein we bring in friends of the podcast to talk about their favorite chapters. But for now, sit back and relax as we talk some Daenerys!
